About the cassette:
As near as can be gleaned, Architeuthis Rex is the solo project of a young italian composer who has named himself after a variety of giant squid. The sounds he uses here are a blend of guitar, electronics, glitching and various other things collaged into a busy fudge fountain. It keeps reminding me of the sort of thing you can hear in your head on a very long car ride, a kind of rumbling drone with teeth chattering softly in the foreground and drool spreading everywhere, especially if your car had a muffler that sounded like a robot playing the tabla.
